Off-grid. Self-contained. Free.
For dispersed camping with no hookups. Built around water, power, waste, and self-reliance.
Fresh water tank topped off
Plan ~3 gallons per person per day.
Drinking water jugs (5–7 gal each)
Collapsible gray water tote
Water filter / inline sediment filter
Stretch a tank of fresh water further than you think.
Wet, lather, rinse — but turn the pump off in between. A 20-gallon tank can carry two people a long weekend if you treat every drop like it cost you something.

Solar is forgiving; lithium is generous.
Park with the long side of the camper facing south. Tilt panels in the shoulder seasons. Lithium gives you usable amp-hours all the way down — lead-acid does not.

One-pot meals are a love language.
Pre-chop at home. Pre-portion proteins into freezer bags. Future-you, after a long drive, will whisper thank you to past-you who took ten minutes the night before.

The boring stuff is the brave stuff.
Check tire pressure cold. Walk around the camper before every drive. Inspect hitch and chains. The dramatic stories all start with someone skipping the boring stuff.

Two Weimaraners taught me everything about pace.
Dogs need a routine the road tries to steal. Same wake-up window, a real morning walk, water you can reach without thinking. The pace is theirs, then yours.
